South Wales & West Branch

South Wales & The West Open Day

The Branch took the opportunity to combine the Institute Open Day with a Branch Committee Meeting. So following the meeting, held in Plymouth on 26th September, Committee Members were available to assist potential students popping by.

Theo Coliandris FICS, vice-chairman of the Institute, addressed the whole room and talked about his career in shipping and experience as a Fellow of the Institute.

The branch chairman & Branch Education Officer, Jonathan Challacombe FICS, together with other Committee Members John Davey FICS and Phillip Rogers FICS, were also present to offer their invaluable advice and guidance to the perspective students attending.

After the presentation and talks, all Committee Members were on hand to help with any questions any of the potential students had. Giving insights on what it means to be a member, how to register as a student and the qualifications that the Institute has on offer.

The event was very succesful with around 60 visitors participating.
